Measure the space for the lantern
Note the available height, width and depth. Also check whether the door or opening can move freely and whether you can easily replace the light source. A photograph with a tape measure makes the space clear.
Consider the proportions in relation to the monument, a vase or another object. A product photograph shows the shape, but without dimensions it cannot give a reliable impression of size.
A standing lantern or a recessed version?
A recessed lantern needs a suitable opening and fixing. Another model may be intended to stand on or beside a monument. Check the intended use of the specific version and do not use the photograph as installation instructions.
Would you like to replace an existing lantern? Send the item number, photographs and measurements of the current fixing. If necessary, have your stonemason assess the fit before making changes to the monument.
Compare material and appearance
The collection includes versions in bronze and aluminium. Some models are also offered in other materials. You can see the available options on the product page.
Consider material and finish alongside the colour and shape of the monument. The catalogue photograph shows an example; another version may look different. Ask for advice if you want to combine a lantern with existing fittings or a vase.
A suitable light source and the right components
Check which light source belongs with your lantern and how much space is available for it. Not every candle or LED light fits every model. Use only a light source suitable for that version and follow the instructions for use.
Separate components are available for some lanterns. Always state the model and version when requesting glass, an insert or another component. An accessory that looks similar may not fit.
