Cast a sculpture in bronze

A bronze sculpture starts with the artist's form. Bring us a sketch, wax model, maquette or existing piece. Together we discuss scale, detail, edition size and appearance.

Cast a bronze sculpture
01 — 03

How does it work?

01

Preparing the model

An existing piece may be moulded or 3D scanned. A digital design may first need a physical model. We consider what is needed to carry the original form into metal.

02

Choosing the mould

Shape, size and detail guide the method. Lost wax with plaster or ceramic shell can capture fine details; sand may suit other forms. A craftsperson assesses the model before choosing a process.

03

Casting and finishing

After casting, we inspect the piece, remove feed points and, where needed, assemble and work the surface. Patina, polishing and texture shape its character. We discuss the finish beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a complete model?

No. A sketch, photo, maquette or 3D file is enough to start.

Can an existing sculpture be enlarged?

Sometimes. We discuss the original, desired size and your permission to reproduce it.

What do you need for a useful price indication?

Send whatever you already have: a photograph, sketch, drawing, model or file. Dimensions, quantity, intended use and finish help us assess the production route. If anything is missing, we will ask you directly.
