Choose a form that suits the memory
Start with a form that appeals to you. An angel, flower, bird, heart, tree of life or cross can have a personal or religious character. There is no fixed meaning that has to be the same for everyone.
Take your time to compare different models side by side. Consider the posture of a figure, the lines of an ornament and how much detail will be visible where the object is placed.
A small ornament, relief or freestanding sculpture
Memorial ornaments are not all installed in the same way. A flatter ornament may be intended for a surface, while a freestanding sculpture needs a suitable base or fixing. Check the intended use of your chosen model.
Note the available space and consider the proportions in relation to the monument, lettering and any other objects. When a model has many details, a smaller size may look different in the product photograph than in its final place.
Choose the bronze version carefully
Some models are available in aluminium or another material as well as bronze. Check which material you are choosing for the version; a starting price may apply to another material or size.
The final appearance also depends on the finish. The catalogue photograph shows an example of the model. Discuss your wishes if the object needs to complement existing bronze lettering, a vase or a lantern.
Placement on an existing monument
A carefully chosen ornament can be added to an existing memorial place. Send an overview photograph, approximate measurements and photographs of the possible fixing area. If necessary, have the manager or stonemason assess any work on the monument.
